The New Maverik Kinetik Men's Lacrosse Head

Apr 10, 2017

The new Maverik Kinetik men’s lacrosse head was shrouded in secrecy and we were really excited to get our first sneak peak at this new offering from Maverik Lacrosse.  At the unboxing of the Kinetik lacrosse head, the immediate response was that the face shape was an improved version of the best-selling Nike CEO.  The top flare is steep and wide and the top of the throat is just a tad wider.  This head is poised to be in the top middie heads for 2018.

Maverik Kinetik Best Lacrosse Head

Where the Kinetik really stands out is by flipping it on its face and examining the back side of the head.  Gone are the smooth, rounded lines of traditional heads.  The Maverik Kinetik lacrosse head has a small but sharp angle where the top of the throat flairs to the top of the head.  OUR PROS LOVE THIS DESIGN! What happens is that the row of diamonds in the mesh at this point gets immediate added tension by being pulled out across this sharp angle.  So right where your first throw string lies, there is an increased tension on the mesh.  This allows the ball to snuggle right up against the top of the pocket and literally snap itself out as it releases up to the channel.  You really need to experience it to feel the pop in this head!  Turn this head sideways and all you will see is one sleek truss angling from mid throat towards scoop.  Simple, strong and classic.

So after the immediate call out on the face shape and the back angle, the next thing to notice is the elongated and slightly tapered pocket channel.  Our Pro stringers dropped a piece of STX Dry Mesh Lite in our first prototype and a piece of  East Coast Dyes Hero 2 Striker in the second one, here were the results:

The Maverik Kinetik lacrosse head with East Coast Dyes Hero 2 Striker mesh was one of the best shoot on the run heads we have ever tested.  Our Pro’s described the release as giving them a bit of extra snap as compared to the other best midfielder heads.  The big shooters also said it felt a bit stiffer than other elite level midfield heads.  Also, our Pro’s commented on the super simple side rail design.

The Maverik Kinetik lacrosse head with STX Dry Mesh Lite was a ball handlers dream.  This mesh is thinner than the StringKing mesh on the market and better suited for players that want the ultimate feel on the ball.  Throw game balls with new rubber in this mesh and you can actually feel yourself putting a spin on the ball as you release, it’s that good!

See for yourself, the Kinetik  (not spelt the Maverik Kenetic FYI) is an instant classic and will be the head of choice for all the Maverik sponsored teams next year.  The exclamation point USA stamp and flag on the underside of the scoop essentially completes the package.  This is a can’t go wrong, elite level offensive weapon bound for the top sellers list immediately on the July 4th release.
