Yale vs Villanova Lacrosse Highlights 2017

www.lax.com - In a game 130 years in the making, the Villanova Wildcats men's lacrosse team hosted the Yale University Bulldogs at Villanova Stadium in the two schools first ever regular season matchup. Coming into the game, the Wildcats were 0-1 on the season after a season opening loss to Monmouth University while the eight ranked Bulldogs opened the season on the road as the preseason favorite to take the Ivy League. With all eyes on the field focused on Yale attack man and 2016 Tewaarton finalist Ben Reeves, it was a career day from Bulldog Jackson Morrill that paced Yale to a 16-11 win over Villanova. The freshman attack from Baltimore, MD led all players with five goals and also tallied one assist. Yale also got a strong effort from junior goalie Phil Huffard, who made 15 saves through the game. Villanova got four goals from Christian Cuccinello in the loss as well as three from senior standout Jake Froccaro. Yale will next head to College Park for a showdown with rival Maryland while the Wildcats continue their season with a home game against Penn State.
