One of our pros favorite mesh is the StringKing 4X and 4S. 4X weaves are tighter, stronger, and lighter than all the previous releases. Stringking 4X is favored by feeders, inside shooters, and those that want the quickest releases in lacrosse. Deadly in the hands of an attackman strung with a lower pocket. Stringking 4S is the choice of elite outside middies and defensemen who want more hold and bigger bags in their upper and mid style pockets. This newly-released mesh will immediately up the game of advanced youth players as well.
Stringking 4S mesh kit is designed with a new technology called Tri-Twist which weaves the mesh tighter than any previous elite level mesh. The Stringking 4S increases hold, ball feel and control for players that want to feel a bit of a bag while cradling but want non-stretch performance while letting shots rip. This stuff is an outsider shooters dream. Also a favorite of LSM and long pole Defensive guys, the 4S is used by some of the best college and high school guys in the nation. As the price here dictates, Stringking is setting the bar for the highest levels of technology and performance. 4S lacrosse mesh is responsive and slightly elastic feeling and has slightly thinner construction on the outer rails. This centers the ball in the sweet spot and gives advanced players all the added control and feel they demand. 4S will improve shot speed and consistency with the new tighter weave. Stringking 4S is the thinnest and lightest mesh in the history of Stringking's high end mesh introduction. The Stringking 4F mesh ket is made with their best selling Tri-twist patters that gives better grip on the ball and weighs only 14 grams. The kit also comes with everything you need ( including premium shooters and sidewalls ) to dial up that perfect face off pocket. Game balls really stick to this mesh and it feels like the new weave is really grabbing on to the new rubber. This 4F is specifically made for face off guys that want that "stickyness" feel on the clamp. Also be sure to check out the Mark 2F face off head described below. The new Stringking Mark 2F head is the latest in a series of elite level face off heads specifically designed for two main advantages... increased ball control area on the clamp and a kinder scoop angle for handling ground balls. The first thing you will notice on the Stringking 2F is the elongated throat. Stringking pulled the narrow channel of the throat shape up as high as possible to create the maximum channel and pocket surface area for controlling the ball. As all good FOGOs are aware, its not just the battle for the quick clamp.. its the battle for real estate along the line that counts too. As players push up into the scoop of an opponents scoop with their glove, the head of the stick slides a bit down the line. The extra length in the throat adds a big advantage as the ball gets caught up in that long channel rather than up towards the opponents scoop. In the old days, FOGOs used to bake their heads and then reform them to match these longer throat designs. Stringking has now taken that concept and worked it in with a massive number of string holes, that offer guys who know how to string even greater advantage depending on where and how they secure those knots. The scoop has a steeper angle which also channels the ball into the sweet spot quicker. These heads also can come strung with the new Stringking 2F mesh which is soft and weighs in at only 14 grams.
ECD Hero Striker Mesh 2.0 is still a great lacrosse mesh option for age groups. Over the past couple of years, this has been our pro stringers favorite mesh and even though there is the new Hero 3.0, this is still a viable option for all players. Some players may simply want to stick with the mesh that they know and love and you can save a couple of bucks on the 2.0, so it's great for youth players upgrading their pocket or guys just learning to string themselves. The story here is the ability to weave two types of fibers into the core of the mesh. This produces a softer channel and more rigid sides of the mesh for an optimal release runway that literally rockets the ball out of the pocket while shooting but produces more hold and feel while cradling and ball handling.
ECD Vortex mesh is a distinct new hybrid technology that uses 2 shapes of diamonds to offer a ball hugging feel that releases straight up the channel with amazing feel and control. This allows you to cradle like soft mesh, but shoot and pass like hard mesh. Our stringers suggest this for more advanced players that really know how to shoot, as they feel this gives the ball a little more whip and could take some getting used to. You get incredible hold and a quick snappy release which is great for those agile goal scorers.
Extra stringing supplies is always a must in your gear bag, you never want a sidewall to snap or your stick to start bagging out in wet conditions. We suggest you pack some sidewall string, shooters, tape, extra mesh, butt ends and a couple of screws just in case you have any emergencies in the middle of a game. ECD and StringKing make very high-quality strings and we also carry large and small spools of string, made in similar factories in the US, if you are looking to by in bulk and save a couple of bucks.
Lacrosse stick screws that self tap into the shaft. Keep a few extra in your bag with a regular screwdriver and you won't be in trouble if you bend a shaft or snap a throw string and need to change heads.
