ECD Hero Striker Mesh 2.0 is still a great lacrosse mesh option for age groups. Over the past couple of years, this has been our pro stringers favorite mesh and even though there is the new Hero 3.0, this is still a viable option for all players. Some players may simply want to stick with the mesh that they know and love and you can save a couple of bucks on the 2.0, so it's great for youth players upgrading their pocket or guys just learning to string themselves. The story here is the ability to weave two types of fibers into the core of the mesh. This produces a softer channel and more rigid sides of the mesh for an optimal release runway that literally rockets the ball out of the pocket while shooting but produces more hold and feel while cradling and ball handling.
ECD Vortex mesh is a distinct new hybrid technology that uses 2 shapes of diamonds to offer a ball hugging feel that releases straight up the channel with amazing feel and control. This allows you to cradle like soft mesh, but shoot and pass like hard mesh. Our stringers suggest this for more advanced players that really know how to shoot, as they feel this gives the ball a little more whip and could take some getting used to. You get incredible hold and a quick snappy release which is great for those agile goal scorers.
Extra stringing supplies is always a must in your gear bag, you never want a sidewall to snap or your stick to start bagging out in wet conditions. We suggest you pack some sidewall string, shooters, tape, extra mesh, butt ends and a couple of screws just in case you have any emergencies in the middle of a game. ECD and StringKing make very high-quality strings and we also carry large and small spools of string, made in similar factories in the US, if you are looking to by in bulk and save a couple of bucks.
