The Game Story:
INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Kyle Tietjen's four goals and four assists helped the Butler lacrosse team capture a 15-6 non-conference victory over VMI on Saturday, Mar. 6 at Varsity Field. The win lifts the Bulldogs to 2-1 on the season, while the Keydets fall to 0-2.

VMI cracked the scoring column first, as Matt Dixson found the back of the net off a Robert Trimble assist at 9:57 in the initial quarter. But, Butler took over from there with a barrage of goals, including a pair on extra-man opportunities, to take a 8-1 lead. VMI scored once more at 13:29 in the second quarter, but Butler would end the half on a 5-0 run, which included back-to-back Tietjen goals, to claim a 13-2 halfime lead.

The Keydets outscored Butler 4-2 in the second half, but by then the game was well out of reach. Nine different players scored for the Bulldogs on the game. In addition to Tietjen's four tallies, Brauch (3), Anthony Crimmins (2), Colin Joyce (1), Jason Soporito (1), Nick Wilbur (1), Jackson Kiniry (1), Chris McKay ( 1) and Austin Freshour (1) also got on the board.
