| LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena staged a dramatic rally in the fourth quarter but it was too
little too late as St. Joseph's held on to beat Siena 13-11 in front of 300 raucous fans
Saturday afternoon.
St. Joe's (4-9/4-3 MAAC) took control of the game with four unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 7-3 halftime lead. The Hawks pushed the lead to 13-8 with 10 minutes left in the game. Siena (1-12/0-6 MAAC) would not quit, scoring three goals and dominating play in the final six minutes but the rally came up short. Siena outshot St. Joseph's 37-34 and collected 34 ground balls to the Hawks' 32. St. Joe's was four of five with the extra man while the Saints were just two of six. Chris Spay led the victors with four goals and an assist. Mike Pagliaro added three goals and an assist while Alex Heidenberger had three goals as well. Dan Wolpert (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Kenndy) enjoyed a banner afternoon, scoring five goals.
