The Game Story:
Louisville, KY - The Wagner men's lacrosse team suffered a 13-5 loss at host Bellarmine in Louisville, KY. The Seahawks slip to 0-5 on the season. Wagner fell behind 5-0 before senior Tom Marchetti (Washington, DC / Gonzaga) scored for the green and white with an unassisted goal at 7:59 in the second quarter. Would then run off five more more goals before Mac Schilcher (Martha's Vineyard, MA / Martha's Vineyard) ended the run with a third period tally at 2:40. Freshman Jeff Policicchio (Novi, MI / Novi) then found the back of the net twice in the fourth period with the second coming off an assist from senior Luke Morris (Annapolis, MD / Fort Union Military Academy). Policicchio also had a team high three ground balls. In golas for Wagner senior Chris Sochacki (Brant Beach, NJ / Shawnee) made 14 saves in goal with three ground balls, while senior Joe Sanfilippo (Hicksville, NY / St. Dominic's) recorded two in relief. The Seahawks forced nine turnovers in teh game, but were outshot 39-20. The team is back in action on March 21 in Boston vs Vermont.
