| Langevin leads Greyhounds past Molloy, 11-8, in men's lacrosse March 20, 2010 Assumption 11, Molloy 8 WORCESTER, Mass. --- Junior attack WILL LANGEVIN (Concord, MA/Concord-Carlisle) scored four goals and assisted on another as Assumption College defeated Molloy College, 11-8, in a non-conference men???s lacrosse game Saturday at the Multi-Sport Stadium. Senior attack KEVIN KLASKIN (Norfolk, MA/Xaverian) and sophomore midfielder TOM GUIDO (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) each had two goals to support the Greyhounds offensive. Assumption is now 3-0 to open the season for the first time in in intercollegiate history. Only the 1976 and 1981 club teams opened 3-0. Molloy is now 1-4. Senior attack MATT DOLAN (North Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) led the Lions attack with three goals, while junior midfielder PETER BOUCHER (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) and sophomore midfielder NICK DONOFRIO (Deerr Park, NY/Deer Park) each scored two goals in support roles for Molloy. Junior goalkeeper SCOTT VOGEL (Powell, OH/Olentangy Liberty) made 15 saves for the Greyhounds, while freshman TOMMY BRUNO (Wantagh, NY/MacArthur) had 13 saves for Molloy. Assumption outshot the Lions, 36-34, and held a slight 24-21 advantage in ground balls. Freshman attack CONNOR MAC NEIL (Wayland, MA/Wayland) opened the scoring for the Greyhounds 5:54 into the first period converting a pass from junior attack JOHN MURPHY (Walpole, MA/Walpole) into a man-up goal. Langevin made it 2-0 with 3:50 left in the period from junior midfielder NICK VIOLANDI (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury). The Greyhounds led 7-3 at the halftime break as Langevin had already completed his ???hat trick.??? |
