The Game Story:
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior midfielder Matt Cassalia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) scored three goals and assisted on another as No. 1 Le Moyne doubled up No. 5 C.W. Post in a non-conference men's lacrosse game at the Carrier Dome. The Dolphins (3-0) have won 21 consecutive games overall and 63 straight regular season contests. C.W. Post (6-1) falls for the first time in seven games this season.

Cassalia's three goals paced seven Dolphins in the scoring column. Junior Nick Gatto (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) scored two goals, while Alex Bily (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), Brian Cost (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee), Brian Griffin (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), Brad Wolken (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and Blake Gale (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette) tallied one each.

With the score deadlocked at two goals each after one quarter, the Dolphins exploded for five goals in the second quarter. Cassalia scored two goals in the final two minutes and 14 seconds to help the Dolphins carry a 7-3 edge into the intermission.

Le Moyne did not score in the third quarter, but kept C.W. Post off the scoreboard for a span of over 24 minutes in the second and third quarters. After Greg Cerar's goal with 9:39 left in the second quarter made it 5-3, the Pioneers did not score again until Cerar's goal with 1:03 remaining in the third quarter.

Cassalia, Gale and Bily netted goals in the fourth quarter as Le Moyne pushed its lead to five goals.

Cerar led C.W. Post with two goals. The Pioneers outshot Le Moyne 34-31, picked up four more ground balls (28-22) than Le Moyne and were 0-for-4 on the extra-man. Nick Dello-Iacono made nine saves for the visitors.

Senior Jared Corcoran (Concord, N.H./Concord) made five of his nine saves in the fourth quarter for Le Moyne. He improved to 49-1 in four season as the Dolphins netminder.

Le Moyne hits the road for its first league contest of the season on Saturday at Bryant University. The Dolphins will carry a 70-game Northeast-10 Conference winning streak into their league opener.
