The Game Story:
Hillburn, NY (3/20/10) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team erased an early 4-0 deficit to defeat the visiting Storm of Lake Erie College, 14-7, this evening in East Coast Conference (ECC) men's lacrosse action at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

The Storm opened the game with four consecutive goals before junior middie Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) put the Chargers on the board with the unassisted goal with 2:48 remaining in the first quarter. DC then continued on the offensive to score four more unanswered goals to take a 5-4 lead with 4:28 seconds before halftime.

Freshman Connor Lawlor (Neptune City, NJ) netted DC's second goal of the game off the assist by Jones to close out the first quarter. Jones got things going in the second quarter off the pass from junior Jesse Peterson (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) to pull the Chargers to within a goal. Senior Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) tied the contest at 4-4 with a man down goal off the dish from attacker Korin Pierce (Middleburg, VA). Pierce then followed with the unassisted goal to give Dominican a 5-4 lead.

The Chargers went on another run, this time scoring five straight goals throughout the course of the third quarter and half-way into the fourth quarter. In the third freshman Elliot Shephard (Allentown, PA) picked up his second goal of the season to regain a one goal Charger lead and Peterson recorded his first goal of the game off the double assist from junior Dave Marrese (St. Albert, AB) and Pierce to make the score 7-5.

Peterson netted the fourth quarter's first goal to increase DC's lead to 8-5 and Tyler Douglas (St. Albert, AB) added a goal off the pass from Montalbano with 9:35 left in regulation. Lake Erie broke up the Charger scoring with a goal, but Dominican closed out the game with a 4-0 run for the 14-7 victory.

Junior Daniel Metoyer (San Diego, CA) tallied a goal off Montalbano's second assist of the game and Jones recorded his third and fourth goals of the game during the run. Senior Michael Flynn (Ronkonkoma, NY) had the other Charger goal, while Metoyer and Peterson picked up assists.

Jones led Dominican with four goals, while four Chargers each had two assists in the victory.

Charger goalie Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made 17 saves.
