| *MADISON**, **NJ** --- *Freshman* David Elam (**Atlanta**, **GA**) *paced the Drew men~Rs lacrosse team Saturday afternoon with three goals, but it was not enough to hold off Elizabethtown College as the Rangers fell 16-9 in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup. Drew slips to an even 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the MAC, while E-town improves to 5-6 on the season and 4-3 in conference play. *Matt Newell (**Malvern**, **PA**) *sparked Elizabethtown with six goals on the afternoon. With the game knotted 2-2 with under 5:00 remaining in the first quarter, Newell scored twice in the last 1:30 for a 4-3 E-town lead. The Blue Jays scored six straight goals on either side of the quarters to give them an 8-3 lead before Drew~Rs *Josh Mirrer (**Belle Harbor**, **NY**) *found the back of the net at 5:45 to cut the Rangers~Rdeficit to four goals (4-8). The Blue Jays controlled the third quarter with five straight goals, including two each from Newell and *Mike Dunn *to take a13-4 lead at the end of the third period. Despite outscoring E-town 5-3 in the fourth stanza, the damage was already done and the Rangers could not catch up. *Jason Woodford (**Timonium**, **MD**) *registered 16 saves on the afternoon with two saves from backup *Paul Kenyon (**Basking Ridge**, **NJ**)*. Elizabethtown College received nine saves from rookie *Chris Schuch (**Columbia**, **PA**). * |
