| LANCASTER, PA -- Freshman Steve Welsh (Lewes, DE/Cape Henelopen)
scored four goals and added an assist as Franklin & Marshall kept
Swarthmore at bay in the final minutes of the Centennial Conference

Welsh built on the score with the first of his quartet of scores with 7:22 remaining in the first quarter as the Diplomats built a 3-0 lead through one period of play. The second period would be more of the same as freshman Colin Hanley (Davidsonville, MD/DeMatha) scored twice in less than five minutes to spark a four goal run as the Diplomats took a 7-1 lead into halftime. Swarthmore would answer back in the second half as the Garnet opened the third quarter with a score by Swarthmore's John Cleaver.
