The Game Story:
Greensboro, NC -- Jose Rodriguez (Wexford PA/North Allegheny) and Jordan Drumheller (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) each had eight points as Greensboro College defeated Penn State Abington, 22-4, on Wednesday. Rodriguez notched six goals and two assists and Drumheller netted three goals and five helpers. The victory improved GC's record to 4-1, matching the program's best start since 2005. Stats

The Pride got off to an 8-0 start in the opening period. At halftime Greensboro was ahead 13-1. For the game, The Pride recorded 58 shots to nine for the Lions.

In all, eleven GC player score points on the day. Four Pride player collected four points in the contest. Nick Patrone (Supply, NC/Apex) had four goals, Brian Bishop (Greensboro, NC/Northwest Guilford) three goals and one assist, Bill Blakely (Huntersville, NC/Hopewell) one goal and three helpers and Neal McKinney (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) four assists.

The Pride dominated in all categories. GC took 24-29 face-offs. Freshman Ross Benoit (Arlington, VA/Yorktown) won 17-20 draws for GC. The Pride recorded 48 ground balls to 12 for the visitors. Patrone scooped a game-high eight GBs.

PSU Abington, in its first year sponsoring a collegiate program is now 0-3. Joe Staerk potted one goal and passed for one assist. Ian Lydon played the first three period in the net for the visitors. He made 14 saves against 19 goals.

Mike Foderaro (Sailisbury, MD/Parkside) played the first 21:54, got the win, made two saves and did not allow any goals. Alex Haskins (Ballston Spa, NY/Herkimer C.C.) and Matt Leach (Charlotte, NC/Canon) both also saw action and allowed two goals apiece.
