|ORLANDO, Fla. - Hamilton College shut out SUNY Potsdam during the |
final 19:37 of regulation and the Continentals posted a 13-8 win on
Jim Henry '05 scored three goals and assisted on another to lead
Hamilton, which improved to 3-0 this season. Travis Modic '07 doubled
his career goals total with three. Pat Hooper '07 and George Earle '05
added two goals apiece. Jack Newton '06 chipped in a goal and two
assists. Kevin Bancroft '08 and Clark Winter '07 also notched goals.
Bancroft has scored in all three games and now has five goals this
season. Ethan Shoemaker '07 made nine saves.
Matt Vaverchak '06 led Potsdam (1-3) with five goals. Harrison
Rogers '06 registered two goals and three assists. Nik Bryan '08
scored the other goal and Ryan Hanretty '05 stopped 11 shots.
The Continentals won 20-of-25 faceoffs and Marc Albu '08 was a big
reason why. Albu won 16-of-20 faceoffs and collected 12 ground balls.
The score was tied at 8 with 4:37 left in the third quarter. Hamilton
scored three goals before the end of the quarter to grab an 11-8 lead
and clinched the victory with two goals in the fourth. The
Continentals play Colby College at the Disney Sports Complex on
Sunday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m.
