The Game Story:
WILKES-BARRE -- T.J. Lyon scored the game-winning goal with just 0:07 left in regulation as the King's College men's lacrosse team overcame a 5-2 deficit to earn a dramatic 7-6 victory over visiting Drew University Wednesday at Betzler Fields.

With the win, King's improved to 2-2 while Drew slipped to 0-4.

Drew would take a 1-0 lead at 12:02 of the first period on a goal by Jordan Bloch. King's then knotted the score at 1-1 when John Matusiewicz struck net at 9:34. The Rangers would build a 3-1 lead after the first period when Cory Helly scored with 4:53 left, followed by a Phil Rosenau goal just 0:54 later.

The Monarchs cut the lead to 3-2 when Andrew D'agostino struck net at 13:47 of the second quarter, but Drew responded with goal by Josh Mirrer and Tom Stitt to extend the advantage to 5-2 with 3:51 remaining in the half.

King's used a quick third quarter goal by Paul Moran to bring King's to within 5-3 just 0:38 into the period. The Monarchs crept to within 5-4 when Chad Flexon scored with 10:25 remaining in the third frame. Drew would counter when Stitt scored his second goal of the game with 2:18 on the clock as the Rangers entered the fourth quarter with a 6-4 lead.

The Monarchs continued to battle back when a Ryan Lachner goal cut the margin to 6-5 with 13:04 remaining. King's would knot the score at 6-6 when Corey Land scored with 3:39 left in regulation. With the game seemingly headed for overtime, the Monarchs would put a sudden end to the contest when Lyon scored with just 0:07 left to give the Monarchs a stirring victory.

Drew outshot King's 35-19 but the Monarchs received an outstanding effort by freshman goalie Tim Cassi who made 17 saves and kept the Rangers off the scoreboard in the fourth quarter.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. contest at FDU-Florham in Madison, NJ
