The Game Story:
4/8/06 -- Seniors Todd Fairlie (Broomall, PA) and Dennis Mann (Havertown, PA), and freshman Cullen Burke (Drexel Hill, PA) scored three goals apiece for No. 19 Widener, 15-6 Middle Atlantic Conference winners over Lycoming in Williamsport, PA for its third straight victory.

Fairlie and junior Gavin Goane (Springfield, PA) scored twice during a run which the Pioneers (6-4, 5-1 MAC) opened a 7-1 lead. Mann scored twice in the last 3:46 of the opening half, including a goal with one second left that gave Widener a 10-3 lead.

Widener, winners in five of its last six contests, netted six consecutive goals bridging the first and second quarter to help it gain a 19-9 shots advantage.

The Pioneers outscored the Warriors, 5-3, in the second half with Burke and sophomore Chris Matthews (Drexel Hill, PA) netting a pair.

Goane, Matthews and sophomore Luke Weber (Lititz, PA) each scored twice for the Pioneers, who closed with a 39-18 edge in shots. Weber won 15-of-21 face-offs, helping Widener capture 16-of-25 overall, and finished with 12 ground balls.

James Cusick and Thomas Nairn scored twice with Kyle Gilfoy coming off the bench to make nine saves for the Warriors.

Widener plays four of its last five regular-season contests at home, beginning Wednesday against FDU-Florham. Face-off is at 4:00 pm.
