The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 10, 2003) -- Senior Jason Mordaci scored five goals and sophomore goalie Don Green made a season-high 18 saves Saturday to lift host Nazareth to a 15-4 victory over Ohio Wesleyan in an NCAA Division III playoff game for men's lacrosse.

The win was the ninth in a row for the eighth-ranked Golden Flyers (12-3), who visit three-time defending champion Middlebury Wednesday for a quarterfinal game. Ohio Wesleyan, ranked 14th nationally, finishes 10-3.

The Golden Flyers took command early, scoring five times in the first quarter and then adding the first two goals of the second quarter to build a 7-0 advantage. The Golden Flyers extended their lead to 10-2 by halftime, then 14-2 after three quarters.

Mordaci scored four times in the first half and junior attackman Brandon Brown scored twice as Nazareth gained control. The Golden Flyers erased any Ohio Wesleyan comeback hopes in the third quarter as freshman attackman Chris Balash scored two of his three goals and Mordaci and Erik Sullivan also scored as the lead swelled to 14-2.

Michael Long scored twice for the Battling Bishops in the fourth quarter, but it came too late.

Nazareth had a 47-35 edge in shots and a 52-40 advantage in ground balls.
