The Game Story:
BIDDEFORD, Maine (Apr. 7) -- Senior Dylan Thomas totaled five points and sophomore Dan O'Gorman controlled 14 ground balls while going 15-for-17 on face-offs to help lead the University of New England to an 11-6 win over Nichols College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's lacrosse match Saturday afternoon at the Big Blue Turf.

UNE halted a two-game losing streak to get back over the .500 mark at 7-6 overall, 2-2 in CCC matches. Nichols lost its third straight contest to drop to 3-7 (1-4 CCC).

Leading 3-0 after one period, the Nor'easters outscored Nichols 3-1 in the second frame to establish a 6-1 advantage heading into intermission. The Bison would tally the initial two goals of the third quarter to close within three (6-3), but Big Blue responded with the final three markers of the period and two early in the fourth to put the game away.

Junior Macaulay Gillis scored two goals and had one assist to lead the Nichols offense. Senior goalkeeper Scott Gray had a busy afternoon between the pipes, making 20 saves.

Thomas scored twice and distributed three assists to pace the UNE attack. O'Gorman, senior Matt Anderson and sophomore Patrick Wolfe also notched a pair of goals.
