| ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's lacrosse team evened their record to 2-2 with a convincing 21-3 win over Keuka College (1-1) in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers broke the game open with a 9-0 run late in the first quarter and the second quarter for their second straight win. Junior Kelso Davis (Freeport, ME/Deerfield Academy) led a balanced RIT scoring attack with five points on four goals and an assist. Jordan McIntosh added a goal and three assists. Sean Gillies (Oakville, Ontario/Albany Academy) and Chris Cherami (Olwick, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) each had a goal and two assists. Iric Bressler (Stafford, VA/North Stafford) added two goals and an assist, while David Burke (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added a pair of tallies. Jordan Collins-Hartwig (Buffalo, NY/Clarence) scored three goals and Adam Vlassis (Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse-Minoa) had a pair of assists. Jerry Ragonese (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) dominated in face-offs winning 13-of-18 while grabbing a game-high 10 ground balls. Junior long-stick midfielder M.J. Kiekebelt caused five turnovers and grabbed four ground balls. Robert Tonnessen (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) got the start in net allowing two goals and making two saves. Dan Wiatroski (Califon, NJ/West Morris Central) played the final 21 minutes of the game making one save and allowing one goal. RIT out-shot the Storm 61-12. The Tigers won the ground ball battle 61-25 and won 22-of-28 face-offs. The Tigers forced Keuka into 31 turnovers and were 17-of-20 on clearing opportunities. The Tigers went 3-for-6 on man-up, while Keuka went 2-for-4. Mark Butto led Keuka with a pair of goals. |
