| Saratoga Springs, N.Y. --The Skidmore College men~Rs lacrosse team scored the game~Rs first seven goals on the way to a 15-6 Liberty League win over Rensselaer in the rain Wednesday afternoon at Skidmore Stadium. The Thoroughbreds are 5-0 in Liberty League play and 10-2 overall. Brendan Bellefeuille started the scoring one minute into the game with the first of his team-high six goals. Bellefeuille then scored with one second left in the first quarter to make it 6-0. He also scored two goals 48 seconds apart in the third quarter and two goals 20 seconds apart in the fourth quarter. Skidmore All-American midfielder Tom Spinella added five goals, including three in the opening 7-0 run. Thoroughbred Goalie James deGorter had 13 saves. Adam LoGiudice led RPI (5-6, 3-2 Liberty League) with four goals and an assist. The win was the 199th overall career win for Skidmore head coach Terry Corcoran. He is 199-130 in 22 seasons. The victory also ties Skidmore~Rs season record of 10 set in 2000. The Thoroughbreds will host Clarkson University on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the Liberty League regular-season title. RPI is at Union on Saturday at 1 p.m. |
