The Game Story:
LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee jumped out to a 7-2 lead en route to posting a 9-7 victory over Colorado College in men’s lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

The Generals (2-0) trailed 2-1 just 6:20 into the contest, but reeled off six-straight goals, including a pair by junior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman), to assume a 7-2 advantage with 8:37 left in the first half.

The Tigers (0-1) made it a 7-3 game at the break when first-year attackman Moses Taylor (Denver, Colo.) scored unassisted just 53 seconds before the intermission.

W&L assumed an 8-3 advantage with 11:54 left in the third period on a goal by senior midfielder Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) off an assist by senior midfielder Harry St. John (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex), but Colorado College reeled off three-consecutive tallies to cut the Generals’ lead to 8-6 with 3:44 left. However, W&L sophomore attackman Spence Daw (Phoenix, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) scored off an assist by sophomore midfielder Drew Koeneman (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) with 2:58 left and the Tigers could get no closer than the two-goal final score.

The Generals were led by St. John, who tallied two goals and one assist. Skeen and Keigler each contributed a pair of goals, while senior Connor Locke (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes) notched seven stops in goal.

Taylor paced Colorado College with three goals, while senior midfielder Charley Perkins (Manchester Center, Vt.) posted two goals. Sophomore Scott McArthur (Westport, Conn.) stopped 11 shots in goal for the Tigers.

Washington and Lee returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts DeSales University for a 5:00 pm contest.
