|MIDDLETOWN, CONN. -- Wesleyan University junior Chris Knacke scored three straight goals to give his team the lead for good, as the undefeated Cardinals defeated visiting Babson College, 8-6, in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.
Babson (2-3) led 5-3 after the first two quarters of play, but Knacke rattled off three straight over a four-minute span of the third to give Wesleyan (5-0) a 6-5 lead. The Cardinals would eventually push the margin to 8-5 before sophomore Jonathan Wyeth scored at 7:21 of the fourth to get Babson back to within two, 8-6. However, that would be all the Beavers' attack could muster again goalie Matt Wheeler, as Wesleyan came away with the 8-6 win.
Junior goalie Dave Frascogna played extremely well in defeat for Babson, stopping 14 shots. Wheeler finished with seven saves in net for the Cardinals.
