April 28, 2012
The Game Story:
ROSEMONT, Pa. - The Rosemont College fledgling men’s lacrosse program has completed its first year of competition and the team now recognizes what it’s up against to become a successful program in future years. Today the Ravens hosted the Marywood Pacers who dominated the Ravens to earn a 29-5 victory over the home side. The Pacers appear to be headed for the #2 seed in the CSAC playoffs with a 6-1 CSAC record (9-6 overall). The Ravens completed their season with an 0-14 record (0-7 CSAC).

Fourteen goals were scored in the first stanza with the Ravens only accounting for two. Dean Grisoff (Fr., Eastern, Voorhees, NJ) and Justin Regan (Fr., Hillsborough, NJ) were Rosemont’s scorers in the quarter. The Ravens were shut out 10-0 in the second quarter and so trailed Marywood 22-2 at the half.

The Ravens scores in the rest of the game came from Austin Molocznik (Fr., Shawnee, NJ), Regan (from Grisoff) and Regan from Molocznik.

Grisoff proved to be a menace to the Pacers in faceoffs, winning 23 of 34 (68%) and garnering 23 ground balls. Ron Vogelei (So., Bensalem, PA) collected 12 ground balls on the afternoon.

Marywood’s Marcus Janda and Riley Dobel each scored five goals with Sam Trill adding a hat trick.

This concludes the first season for the Rosemont men’s lacrosse team.
