BALTIMORE, Md. -- Four goals from redshirt senior Andrew Hodgson helped the No. 14 Towson men's lacrosse team surge past the UMBC Retrievers Saturday afternoon at UMBC Stadium. The career-high helped Towson improve to 2-1 on the season against the Baltimore area schools, including the Tigers'7-5 win over then-No. 5 Johns Hopkins in the season opener. The Tigers (4-2) got the Hodgson goals in addition to a trio from Joe Seider. Ryan Drenn and Spencer Parks chipped in two goals apiece while Greg Cuccinello finished with two assists. Drenner, Parks and Justin Mabus had one helper apiece. Towson out-shot UMBC 43-22 en route to the win, improving the Tigers to 3-1 during a four-game road swing. The Tiger defense held UMBC (2-3) to just seven goals, the fifth time this season Towson has held its opponent to single-digit goals. The Tigers, who return home to Johnny Unitas Stadium next weekend against Hobart at noon, did not serve a penalty during the game.
