CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 4 University of Notre Dame men's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game and withstood a second-half surge from No. 7 Virginia to open Atlantic Coast Conference play with an 11-9 victory on Saturday afternoon at Klockner Stadium. BR Freshman attackman Mikey Wynne paced the Fighting Irish offense with five goals, while Conor Doyle chipped in three scores. Sophomore goalie Shane Doss made 10 stops for the Fighting Irish. BR The Fighting Irish return to the field next Saturday when they play host to Ohio State. The game is slated for 4 p.m. (ET) at Arlotta Stadium and it will be broadcast on ESPNU.
