| | yes they haven't played the top 10 teams, but who the hell are the top teams right now? Most every team has lost to a worse team or even come close. Loyola beats duke, but loyola lost 17-7 against rutgers, who syracuse destroyed. Virginia lost to duke by one goal in OT, but just barely beat dartmouth. Cornell has beaten all the top teams they've played, syracuse has turned on their offense, but a 16 goal performance from the big red puts it away.
Cornell beat duke, princeton, cuse, army should not have been that close, and notre dame is a very good team. After that, all the teams they should destroy, they did, blowouts, explosive offense completely putting them away. By distancing themselves from teams like binghamton, or penn, they show the championship quality by always performing consistently and playing until the final whistle.
If you look at who has beaten who, who has lost to who, it still leaves the big red on top, no matter what, by putting themselves above the top teams, and completely apart from the middle or worse ones, they will be there memorial day weekend.
UVA isn't always there, a loss to drexel proves that, and close calls with carolina, dartmouth and binghamton (10-7, Cornell beat them 19-4) show weakness. Cornell remains the team to beat, and they've already proven themselves against Duke, and if you ask me, i'd say they played pretty poorly the first half, so thats one of the only times this season Cornell wasn't completely there. |
