Coaches help too and $ at Notre Dame
by IC-bomber on May 24, 2001 @06:28:00 PM

Notre Dame and Georgetown have quality coaches which make them top 10 teams. They can recruit and maintain teams becuase they have been there before at other schools. There are only like 6-8 superstar coaches in the NCAA right now who could probably build a top 10 team wherever they wanted to on the east coast. If Urick went to Boston College and changed the schedule, I bet BC could be a top 20 team within 4 years. Just making the point that coaches can get the top players to schools. Another point about Notre Dame, they don't give athletic scholorships, but they have school schororships that they can give for whatever reason they want to ("acedemics", character, involvement in their religious community at home) Some of these scholorships can range from 5,000-18,000 dollars a year. Ivy league schools do the same thing
