finally someone calls someone out for comments like these. Id love to see what the guy above has to say in 10-15 years. Good for them for keeping with the sport, glad to see it's something we can all continue into our later years.

I play goalie with a local masters team on Thursdays and Sundays and it is so fun. Just show up, suit up, and play for an hour and a half to two hours. Everyone's there to have fun, and a few of them are pretty damn good.

Let's see what you clowns look like on the field when you're 35.

On another note does every masters team have to be called the Old Dogs?

What has happened to Lax.com?
    by (#118585) on 7/29/10 @5:44PM
It's good to see OLD guys like this plugging away, but why would a "top" lacrosse site put this up? You use to be the place to go to for top lacrosse news and tips, but this...really?

as matter of fact, I know they can't "kick my A**" but relax fellas, the goalie play was horrible. Its not like I'm stating my opinion. There wasn't one save LOL.

    by (#251137) on 7/29/10 @10:04PM
HI Fellas - good to see all the flow of comments regarding this post!!! We at Lax.com appreciate everyone's opinion and dedication to the game. We decided to post this game to show our appreciation for some ballers who still honor and love the game - no matter what age, ability or repaired body part!!! While we strive to deliver only the most relevant content in season.. sometimes its nice to put the feet up, get back to basics and appreciate what you have. We are happy to showcase this small segment knowing that these dedicated dads are the same as the ones across our great country promoting youth lacrosse for future generations to enjoy. Thanks for setting the scene guys!!! Best. Play Hard!!! GW Lax.com

Everyone wants to see the sport advance, but once you guys post something that isn't about already prevalent games/areas/colleges in lacrosse everyone whines.

I cant wait til I'm that old and take the field. that will be interesting. its a great idea to keep you in shape and have fun. I know for a fact theres plenty of people who had this opportunity and declined it. so great job guys! keep it up! looks like there having fun out there, thats all that matters at the end of the day

In my mind, I'm still 25!
    by (#241041) on 7/30/10 @8:39AM
Remember, OLD is a state of mind. We "old" guys play for the love of the sport, the commraderie, the exercise, the pure joy, and for the pleasure of the Creator. And some days, he must think we're the Comedy Channel! But as long as you can still get on the field, YOU'RE ALIVE!

Oh, and Young Pups, remember that every day you are one step closer to becoming an Old Dog, too! Enjoy the journey, it ain't too bad at this end of the age spectrum. Now, excuse me, I've got to get back to the drawing board as I design a walker with a spring-mounted crosse so we can play in the halls of the nursing home.

See you in Lake Placid next week!

Matured Laxers in Lake Placid
    by (#241041) on 8/09/10 @10:06AM
And congratulations to all the Super Grand Masters (52) and Grand Masters (45) who played in Lake Placid this past week! You need some video of those games so those making snide comments will see that damn good lax can be played by the "mature player", albeit a little more slowly. In fact, one of the open division men's teams (college age) fielded a ~55-year old goalie who performed phenomenally well against the young bucks and their speed balls. I heard that he may have played 14 games in 5 days! I know he played 4 games one day. And most SGMs also play the GM games as well. Respect your elders, sonny, and don't make me put down my cane, back you into a corner of the field and check your hands until they bleed. I promise that everytime you put that bottom hand on your crosse it's going to hurt. ;-)
