| | | stupid....
| by longboard315 (#81726) on 1/10/09 @3:43PM | For Maverik showing such stupid videos like this....I will NEVER buy / support their products. Its lacrosse companies like Maverik that cheapen the sport by teaching young players that its "cool" to do showboating moves on the field or with its arrogant slogan "Were better than you".
No real lacrosse player cares how you put the ball in the net - this game is a team sport, not an individual spectacle. And dont be fooled, this tool didnt invent this shot - this move and most of the other gimmick moves you see today from the "pro-players" are rip-offs from the yester-years (the late 80's / early 90's) Oh and BTW --> the V shooting string in all the mesh pockets you see today, another rip off from the past. That one also goes as far back as the late 80's.
And please dont misconstrue my comments as being bitter; my purpose is to bring out the truth to those that may not know.
Play the sport hard, respect the sport even more. Creativity is a good thing but this kind of crap is reserved for the back yard. | | | Reply to this

| by shocks (#1383) on 1/10/09 @7:30PM | Just because you can't shoot between your legs and you're old doesn't mean you need to take it out on Maverik.
Btw, I hear jumpshots in basketball are also a ripoff from the past. | | | Reply to this

| by lax17fla (#120801) on 1/12/09 @10:39PM | | Lacrosse is meant to be fun. Stick tricks by Mikey Powell and shots like this are for fun... So relax loosen your tie and belt, stop reminiscing about the 80's at your job on Wall Street, and enjoy life a little bit. It s fun shot, you get it now? | | | Reply to this

| | | | rip off?
| by pulax3seven (#217589) on 3/30/09 @11:46AM | How is putting a V in your pocket considered a rip off? It's clearly a product of innovation. Someone said "hey maybe this will work" and it caught on. So the offset head, titanium shaft, and everything else we play with is just a rip off of something else? No, its innovation and the natural progression of technology in the sport.

| by Tehb2 (#183028) on 1/19/09 @1:35AM | | I'd go for the over the shoulder (behind the back) shot instead. More angle, more power, more accurate, way faster. | | | Reply to this

| | | its ok
| by beast11 (#209354) on 1/12/09 @9:53PM | | this is cool but only to do in the backyard or at a practice. if you could pull this off in a game, right on for you lol. plus by the time you went in you would get a double on you and when you take the time and get ready for the shot, you would probably be knocked over. | | | Reply to this

 | umm...
| by attack4life (#222425) on 6/10/09 @3:20PM | 1. stupid video its pointless and if u need to watch a video to learn how to mess around ur not really having fun with game...
2. notice how he's got a short pole covering him...not gonna happen...a long pole would cover that too much, and besides, any good defender would lay him out for standing there taking 10 seconds to lift his leg up like a pissing dog and shoot like that, and with the speed u get from that shot, for right handed goalies, its a slow stick side save, a clear, and a showboating idiot attackman coming off the field and getting yeld out by his coach. | | | Reply to this
