The game started off with Navy scoring three unanswered goals in the first quarter, allowing them to take a 3-1 lead into the second. They then promptly went on a scoring spree, netting seven unanswered goals and completely dominating a listless Air Force squad.
The second half followed suit, with Navy going on a 7-1 run in the third and fourth quarters. However, the real moment for the Navy fans, and team, took place at 13:49 when Jon Brianas scored his first goal of the season. Overall, the game was pretty lopsided, with Navy just overpowering an underskilled Air Force. Look for Navy against Georgetown next week in a battle for the ECAC automatic qualifier bid.
Game Highlights: A victory within a victory for Navy occured when senior captain Jon Brianas scored his first goal of the season. Jon, who had already battled through two knee injuries in his college career was dealt a serious blow earlier this year, when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. A diagnosis that would surely deter many athletes from the game, but not Jon. He battled the disease every step of the way, and made a heroic return to the Mid's line up this year. Jon, you are a true inspiration to your teammates and those who watch you.
