Kevin Lindley scored all seven of his goals during a 12-0 Loyola University Maryland run Saturday, leading six Greyhounds who scored two or more in a 24-10 Patriot League victory over visiting Bucknell University at Ridley Athletic Complex. The 24 goals are the most Loyola (4-2 overall, 2-1 Patriot League) has scored in a conference game since joining the Patriot League in 2013-14, and it marks the most by a Greyhounds' team since a 24-5 win over Fairfield University on March 19, 1997. Lindley finished one off his career-high with seven goals, while Peter Swindell scored a career-best four, three coming on extra-man in the game's opening 20 minutes. Joey Kamish returned from injury to play for the first time since the season-opener, scoring three goals and posting a pair of assists for a career-high five points, while Aidan Olmstead matched his career-high for the second time in a month with eight points on three goals and five assists. Evan James had two goals and one assist, and Dan Wigley scored twice, as well. Cam Wyers, a close defender, had three assists to go with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Ryan McNulty had a pair of assists along with four ground balls. Bailey Savio went 20 of 31 on faceoffs, finishing three off his Patriot League record of 23. He also had 13 ground balls as the Greyhounds won the battle on the ground, 44-37. Bucknell got off to a quick start as it rode back a Loyola clear after a Sam Shafer save. Nick Clarke scored 1:23 into the game to put the Bison up, but the lead would be short-lived. Evan James scored the Greyhounds' first 56 seconds later as he dodged out of the left alley, got to the middle and his right hand to score unassisted. Loyola went on extra-man moments later with Swindell tallying his first of the day on a step-down look at 11:24 with a feed that came from James. For the next goal, it was the Greyhounds' ride that made the impact as Olmstead delivered a hit to Bucknell's Danny Striano, jarring the ball lose. Olmstead picked up the ground ball, turned and slung a lefty rip that found the net to make it 3-1 Loyola just 4:38 into the game. Riley Seay and Dan Wigley had unassisted goals off dodges out of the midfield before Olmstead tallied his second off a Kamish assist to make it 6-1 Greyhounds with 5:52 left in the first quarter. Bucknell quicky scored the next three to get within a pair as Tommy Sopko scored twice and assisted on an Alston Tarry goal, but an extra-man goal by Swindell and then a James tally made it 8-4 with under a minute to go in the stanza. The Bison got back within three with a Brenden Lundy goal one second before the expiration of the opening period, but Lindley got on the board for the first time 2:24 into the second quarter, jumpstarting a 12-0 run. Lindley scored all seven of his goals during that run, while Kyle LeBlanc and Wigley each added tallies, and Swindell had two. Swindell's fourth of the game came with 9:23 left in the third quarter, and it gave Loyola a 20-5 advantage. After Bucknell scored four-straight, Olmstead scored, Kamish tallied back-to-back scores and Adam Poitras had one for the Greyhounds. Loyola steps out of Patriot League play next week when it makes the short trip to face Towson University at 12 noon on Saturday, March 27.
