BALTIMORE - The 10th-ranked Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team shutout Bucknell through the second half and ran away with a 21-1 win over the Bison Wednesday night at Ridley Athletic Complex. With the win, the Greyhounds move to 11-4 overall this season and 7-0 in the Patriot League, while they also improve to 50-0 in the Patriot League since joining the League for the 2014 season. Sophomore Livy Rosenzweig led all players with nine points, scoring twice and adding a game-high seven assists. Classmate Sam Fiedler finished the game with five points, tallying a game-high four goals to go with an assist, while senior Taylor VanThof also finished with a hat trick, scoring three and adding an assist. Seniors Emily Cooper and Hannah Powers, sophomores Elli Kluegel and Liz Scott, and freshman Leah Daly all netted two goals, and junior Holly Lloyd finished with one goal and two assists, while sophomore Emily Beier tallied one goal. Audrey Walsh scored Bucknell's lone goal, which was assisted by Eve Calabria. The Greyhounds scattered nine goals throughout the first 16 minutes of play to pull ahead 9-0 by the 14:51 mark. Rosenzweig had six points through Loyola's first seven goals, assisting Fiedler, VanThof, Powers and then VanThof again, before scoring her first goal at 22:32. Following Cooper's strike at 19:44, Rosenzweig assisted Powers for her sixth point, and then Scott tacked on a pair of goals to give the Greyhounds a 9-0 advantage. The Bison (4-11 overall, 2-5 Patriot League) snapped Loyola's run at 13:36 with a man-up goal, but the Greyhounds scored the final 12 goals of the game to run away with the 21-1 victory. Goals from Kluegel, VanThof, two from Fiedler and one from Lloyd closed out the first half, while Beier started the second-half scoring. Cooper scored her second of the game before Daly got her first two goals of her collegiate career, scoring off a free position and then on an assist by Fiedler. Kluegel, Rosenzweig and Fiedler rounded out the scoring. Defensively, Fiedler led all players with four ground balls, while senior Lindsey Ehrhardt caused four turnovers. Wilson also won four draw controls, while Rosenzweig finished with three. In goal, senior Kady Glynn turned back two first-half saves, while sophomore Kaitlyn Larsson played the second half and stopped one shot. Loyola will return to action on Saturday when it hosts Colgate for Senior Day. Opening draw is slated for noon, with the Greyhounds' eight seniors – Emily Cooper, Lindsey Ehrhardt, Kady Glynn, Amanda Ignacio, Katie Korvin, Hannah Powers, Taylor VanThof and Kristen Yanchoris – being honored in a pregame ceremony.
