The No. 3 Maryland women's lacrosse team dropped a top-five road battle to No. 1 North Carolina, 19-6 on Saturday. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Senior Brindi Griffin and junior Hannah Warther each had two goals for Maryland. Freshman Kate Sites scored her first career goal, going coast to coast in the first half to make the score 4-3 North Carolina. The Terps were only down three, 7-4 at halftime, before being outscored 12-3 in the second half. This is the first time ever that Maryland has lost two-consecutive games under Cathy Reese. It happened last when Maryland lost three straight to end the 2006 season. UP NEXT No. 3 Maryland will play its second-straight road game against a top-10 opponent when it travels to No. 7 Syracuse on Friday, February 28 at 3:00 p.m.
