Lafayette Hill, Pa. – (2/26/2019) – The battle of the Griffins took place at Lafayette Hill tonight, where Chestnut Hill College squared off against #11 Seton Hill University in an overall competitive contest. The home team played an even matchup in the first period (3-3), but Seton Hill University outscoring them 6-3 (9-6) stalled Chestnut Hill College enough to secure the 19-12 win. Sophomore midfielder Ben Revak (Aston, Pa.) led the Scarlet and Gold with five goals, one assist, and three ground balls. With tallies from senior midfielder Nick Webber (Westwood, Mass.) (1-1, 10:27), senior midfielder John Bennett (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) (2-2, 6:16), and sophomore attack J.R. Howell (East Meadow, N.Y.) (3-3, 4:36), Chestnut Hill College (2-1) matched Seton Hill University's (3-2) energy exchanging goals in the 3-3 first period. The trend continued in the first six minutes of the second period, but the visitors were able to go up by two points on the Scarlet and Gold before the new half (9-6). Unfortunately, Seton Hill University capitalized off of their edge going on a four-goal run at 9:27 in the third quarter (13-7) that changed the dynamic of the game. Down but not out, Chestnut Hill College continued to challenge their opponent outshooting them 11-9 in the final period, led by Revak (4) who scored two back-to-back goals. Despite their efforts they fell short before the final whistle, resulting in the 19-12 loss. Senior midfielder Collin Mitchell (Avon Lake, Ohio) headlined Seton Hill University with four goals, while four other players, senior midfielder John Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), junior attack Bennett Johnson (Annapolis, Md.), sophomore midfielder Zack Estabrooks (Victor, N.Y.), and sophomore attack Robert Hofseth (Coquitlam, British Columbia) recorded three goals each. Along with Revak's five goals (12 shots) he also posted one assist and three ground balls. Howell logged two goals, two assists, one ground ball, and one caused turnover. Bennett, Webber, junior attack Scott Wilden (Wexford, Pa.), sophomore midfielder Mickey Holland (Brick, N.J.), and sophomore midfielder Billy DiMaio (Homdel, N.J.) all recorded one goal apiece. Freshman goalkeeper Austin Jones (Courtice, Ontario, Canada) (2-1) played majority of the game (48:53) and finished the affair with 15 saves and three ground balls.
