Potsdam, NY – Sebastian Geiger enjoyed another huge day for the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team as the junior attackman scored five goals and assisted on two others in the Golden Knights 19-2 win over College of Wooster on Friday afternoon. The Golden Knights will return to New York unbeaten at 7-0 while Wooster fell to 2-4. Clarkson returns to action at Hantz Field on Wednesday when the team takes on Plattsburgh State. Clarkson scored three times in the first three minutes as the offense continued its hot streak. Andrew Kearney opened things up with help from Bryan Penney at 13:46 and Geiger scored a pair of goals 52 seconds apart, with the second also coming from Penney. Wooster got on the board midway through the frame, but the Knights dominance in the first ended with a 6-1 lead and doubled advantages in shots (16-6), shots on goal (11-5), groundballs (13-7). The second quarter was a little slower as Wooster drew within four on an early score from Will Fink, but the Knights were able to maintain their solid margin thanks to goals from Penney and Geiger. In the third and fourth quarters, Clarkson blew the game open. Five different players scored goals in the third as KJ Sarni, Thomas Fiebich, Matt Reilly, Connor Holly, and Geiger all found the back of the net, and in the fourth Connor Matthews scored a pair and Fiebich assisted on two goals to finish off the rout. Geiger produced seven points in the game to put him at 16 for the week, while Fiebich matched the effort in a different way, scoring once and recoding six assists. Penney also had three points with three groundballs. Matthew Hansen won the battle on faceoffs, taking 16 of 19 chances and snagging nine groundballs, while Max Hoffer added five groundballs and Shane Boehmcke added three caused turnovers. In the Clarkson crease, Jacob Mattice made eight saves in 47 minutes, Henry O'Brien went six minutes without facing a shot, and Matt Yonko stopped two shots in a little under seven ticks. For Wooster, Paul Chandler made 15 saves in 49 minutes and Adam Meyer denied two in 11 minutes.
