GORHAM, Maine. – Brycen Kennedy (Southington, Conn.) and Zacharie Appolon (Stamford, Conn.) each notched seven points to lead the Eastern Connecticut State Warriors to a 14-9 conference victory over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in Gorham on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Huskies conclude their season with a 3-10 record.

History: This was the 22nd matchup between the two teams. The Warriors now lead the series 22-0.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-Despite dominating the possession in the first quarter of play, Eastern Connecticut only was able to score three goals, including one with one second left in regulation.
-Appolon scored twice and Cedrick Rene (Norwalk, Conn.) added a goal for the Warriors, while Schuyler Wetmore (Cumberland Center, Maine/Greely) got on the board for the Huskies.
-The Warriors most dominant quarter was the second as they out-scored the Huskies five to two. The two Southern Maine goals in the second quarter came from Wetmore and Nick James (Portland, Maine/Deering).
-Three goals for the Warriors and another from Wetmore left the Huskies down 11-4 going into the final quarter of play.
-Launching an attempt at a fourth quarter comeback, Southern Maine out-scored the Warriors 5-3, but it wasn't enough to overcome their deficit.
-The Warriors out-shot the Huskies 45-26 and went 19-for-24 on clear attempts. The Huskies' faceoff team won 12-of-14 faceoffs.
-Senior Robby Pini (Natick, Mass./Natick) ends his career with the Huskies as their all-time leader in ground balls with 312. Starting 13-of-13 games this season, Pini lead the team in ground balls (92) and caused turnovers (23).
