Goalkeeper JT Doyle made a career-high 25 saves to lead the Centenary University men's lacrosse team against Kean University on Friday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The Cougars claimed the 16-4 win over the Cyclones. Doyle's 25 saves are tied for second most in single-game history at Centenary. He is the first Cyclone goalkeeper since Kevin Switzer (vs. Cabrini in 2015) to have 25 or more saves in a game. His 25 stops are the most by a CSAC goalkeeper this season. In the NCAA stats updated as of April 1, Doyle would rank tied for fifth for saves by a Division III goalkeeper this season. Kean jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 15 minutes of play. Brady Moore had a goal and two assists for the Cougars during that stretch. The visitors scored four times during the second period and took a 9-0 lead at the break. Connor Batjer had two goals and an assist during that stretch. The Cyclones won the opening faceoff of the third period and went to work. Freshman Brandon Casey had a nice curl around the back of the net and scored his second goal of the season. Kean used a 7-0 run to bridge the third and fourth quarters and took a 16-1 lead with 3:35 to go in the game. The Cyclones scored the final three goals of the game as Casey sandwiched his second of the day in between tallies from sophomores Andrew Marchese and Zeke Giorlando. That made the final score 16-4. Thomas Francy started the game and made one save to earn the win in goal for the Cougars. Doyle finished with the 25 stops for the Cyclones. Centenary is back in action as it travels to Stockton on Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m.
