The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team picked up its first win of the 2020 season with a 15-5 victory over the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Wednesday afternoon. Hawk Highlights Jude Marzec (West Islip, N.Y.): 5 goals, 4 assists, 1 ground ball Tim Mullane (Hanover, Mass.): 2 goals, 3 assists, 2 ground balls, 1 caused turnover Gabe Reale (Fairfield, Conn.): 3 goals, 1 ground ball Drew Mullin (Ridgefield, Conn.): 5 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers Connor Hillemeir (Farmington, Conn.): 16 face-offs won, 12 ground balls Ryan Bannon (Hopkinton, Mass.): 18 saves, 5 goals allowed, 60:00 minutes in goal For The Opponents Tim Jordan (Sandwich, Mass.): 2 goals, 3 ground balls Jeff Wenzel (Medway, Mass.): 1 goals, 1 assist, 3 ground balls Alexi Fauzey (Charlestown, R.I.): 5 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers Ted McCaffery (Pepperell, Mass.): 11 saves, 15 goals allowed, 60:00 minutes in goal How It Happened The Hawk offense was in high gear in the first quarter, as the team tallied five goals in the period while holding UMass-Dartmouth scoreless in the period. Gabe Reale and Jude Marzec combined for four of the five goals in the period as RWU held a commanding lead going into the second. UMass-Dartmouth was able to pull within four with goals by Donovan Prozinski and Tim Jordan, but the Hawks were able to get both scores back within a minute of each other to take an 8-2 lead into halftime. The Corsairs were able to tally three more goals in the third quarter to make it a 5-10 deficit going into the fourth quarter. However, Roger Williams once again held UMass-Dartmouth to a scoreless period, as UMD was unable to notch a goal in the fourth. Conversely, the Hawks put another five-spot on the scoreboard in the period for the ten-goal win.
