The Paladins got a goal from freshman Carson Sorrells on an assist by Zach Scott to cut the lead to 3-2 to end the first. The Catamounts extended their lead with five unanswered goals in the second quarter to take an 8-2 lead at halftime. Williamson added to his goal total in the third quarter, scoring back-to-back goals to cut the lead in half at 8-4. The Catamounts opened the fourth quarter with a goal to push the lead to 9-4, before Keegan Pearl scored the first goal of his career to pull the Paladins to within four at 9-5. Vermont scored three-straight goals to push the lead to 12-5, before Williamson picked up his fourth goal of the day with 17 seconds to go, making the final score 12-6. Furman is back in action on February 10, traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C., to take on North Carolina.
