Leading from start to finish in its second-straight victory, Harvard men's lacrosse earned a 14-10 win over Hartford on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field. Sophomore Kyle Anderson scored four times for the second-consecutive game, while senior Morgan Cheek and sophomore Ryan Graff tallied five points apiece on two goals and three assists. Senior Robert Shaw was strong between the posts, making 13 saves. The Crimson got out to a 3-0 lead in the first 3:09 with goals from senior Carney Mahon, Cheek and Anderson, but Hartford responded with two scores to make it a one-goal game. Anderson added a second tally in the first quarter, while senior Joe Lang and Graff scored early in the second to give Harvard a 6-2 advantage. A game of runs, the Hawks cut the Crimson lead to one with a minute to play before the intermission, but goals from Graff and Anderson in the final 38 seconds gave the Crimson a three-goal cushion at the half. Scoring two goals apiece in the third frame, Harvard took full control in the fourth with four-straight goals in the quarter. Graff found sophomore Watson Cheek to close the run with just over four minutes to go, and the Crimson earned its second home win of the season. Harvard Highlights Anderson netted four goals for the second-straight game. Graff and Cheek tallied five points each. Cheek moved into the top-10 in program history in points and assists, with 159 points and 73 assists. Shaw has made double-digit saves in all four games, totaling 13 against the Hawks. He is ninth in program history with 388 stops. Game Notes Harvard improves to 2-1 at home this season, and 8-1 all-time against Hartford. Nine Harvard players found the back of the net: Anderson, Cheek, Graff, Cheek, Lang, senior Tim Edmonds, freshman Kyle Salvatore and senior Sean Coleman. Cheek extended his point streak to 35 games, which entered the afternoon as the ninth-longest in the nation. What's Next? Harvard treks to Providence for a 1 p.m. clash on Saturday, March 10.
