Brown sophomore George Grell (Short Hills, NJ) and junior Jack Kniffin (Darien, CT) scored four goals each to propel Brown to a 17-7 win over Bryant at Beirne Stadium to capture the Ocean State Cup.
Brown improves to 6-8 overall with one regular season game remaining on Saturday against Dartmouth. Bryant concludes its season with a 3-11 overall mark.
"That's as complete a game as we've played all year," said Brown head coach Mike Daly. "We have much respect for Bryant. They are a tough and hard-working team, but we matched and exceeded that effort. Our players made all the plays today and earned the victory."
Freshman Darian Cook (Redding, CT) tossed in a goal and two assists for the Bears, while junior Luke McCaleb (Chevy Chase, MD) had a goal and three assists.
Brown junior goalie Phil Goss (San Francisco, CA) allowed six goals and registered six saves in 50:46, while senior Acie Newton (Baltimore, MD) played the final 9:14.
Bears' junior face-off specialist Jason Simaan (Newport Beach, CA) captured 8-of-15 face-offs, picked up six ground balls and scored his first career goal.
The Bears opened up an early 4-1 lead on goals by senior Carson Song (Charlotte, NC), Simaan, Cook and Grell with 7:43 remaining in the opening quarter.
Trevor Weingarten paced the Bulldogs with three goals and an assist.
The Bulldogs tied the game, 4-4, with three straight goals, but the Bears answered immediately with five straight goals by Kniffin Grell, McCaleb, sophomore Ryan Aughavin (Glen Head, NY) and senior Jackson Newsome (Arlington, VA) for a 9-4 advantage with 8:44 left in the second quarter.
The two teams exchanged goals at the end of the half, Weingarten for Bryant and Grell for the Bears with nine seconds left for a 10-5 Brown lead at intermission.
Brown put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 6-1 to take control of the game, 15-6.
Brown closes out its regular season on Saturday, April 27 in an Ivy League match-up against Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. Face-off is 1:30 pm on ESPN+ at Scully-Fahey Field.
