The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (1-2) was defeated by the hands of Lindenwood (2-0) by a score of 23-6 Saturday afternoon. The Lions of Lindenwood opened the scoring, netting four straight goals, two from the stick of Grant Glazier. Zac Carrigan's 10th of the season interrupted the scoring momentarily, but Lindenwood responded by scoring five straight to end the first quarter. Peter Covington recorded three of the goals down the stretch for the hat-trick. The Lions continued their offensive dominance, outscoring Mars Hill 7-2 in the second. Covington and Jake Campbell each collected three points in the frame (2g, 1a) to give Lindenwood a 16-3 edge going into halftime. Both Mars Hill goals were scored by Spencer Andrews, his 11th and 12th of the season, respectively. Lindenwood held Mars Hill scoreless in the third frame as five different goal scorers added to their large lead. The final frame saw the Lions score three, with Andrews collecting a hat-trick. Devin Napol scored his first as a Lion while Tremain Hill netted his seventh of the season. Connor Ciemiewicz was credited with the save, making three saves on six shots. Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, February 22 when they host Emmanuel inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
