The Knights got off to a quick start in the game, scoring three times over the first three-and-a-half minutes of action to build an early 3-0 lead. Nicholas Graziano (Franklin Square, N.Y.), De Meo and Tristan Earle (Millrift, Pa.) all scored over the opening run for the Mount. The Griffins rallied with the next four markers to pull in front 4-3 late in the second frame, before the Mount scored twice in the final 2:03 of the quarter to carry a 5-4 lead into halftime. The Knights spread their lead to 10-7 in the fourth period after back-to-back tallies from De Meo and Graziano just under two minutes apart.
