PHILADELPHIA – La Salle continued conference play with a 12-3 defeat to Davidson on Friday. Sophomore Bridget Ruskey led the way for the Explorers with a goal and an assist; classmate Allison Hunter, along with senior Isabel Caddick, also got on the scoresheet. HOW IT HAPPENED Davidson played well in the first half, finishing with a 9-0 lead. The Wildcats scored three goals in the first 10 minutes, three more in the next 10, and three to close out the final 10. The visitors began the second frame where they left off—with three straight strikes, all unassisted. La Salle closed out the game strongly as they netted the final three goals. Caddick got the Explorers on the board before Ruskey and Hunter followed suit. INSIDE THE NUMBERS Along with leading the team in points, Ruskey also finished second in ground balls (four) and caused turnovers (three.) Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Loughlin paced the Explorers with a season-high eight ground balls. In net, she recorded 10 saves on 22 shots. Sophomore Priya Kavuru was a disruptive force for La Salle. She led the team in caused turnovers with four, while also scooping up three ground balls. Freshman Amanda Farnsworth got her first career start and finished with a season-high two ground balls. With a goal today, Hunter has scored in five consecutive games. And with nine points on the season, she has far exceeded her rookie campaign total (two points.) UP NEXT La Salle gets another shot at an A-10 opponent this weekend as they host a noon showdown with VCU on Sunday. The game is noteworthy because it's Alumni Appreciation Day along with being a Lace Up With Lax event.
