NEWARK, Del. – A first half surge by the Pride was too much for Delaware to overcome Sunday afternoon as the Blue Hens fell to Hofstra, 14-8, at Delaware Stadium. UD senior Caroline Farley posted the first goal of the game with a spectacular behind-the-back shot, but HU responded with six straight scores and never looked back in the contest. Farley led the Hens with two goals and one assist to go along with three draw controls and one ground ball. Sydney Rausa and Claire D'Antonio also collected two goals apiece while Sarah Bedard added one goal and two assists. With the loss, the Hens fall to 1-4 in conference play and will not qualify for the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association Tournament despite one game remaining in their season.
