NEWARK, Del. – Mia DeRuggiero set a Delaware Stadium record with 11 points Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Hens fell to Towson, 17-14. The junior led all scorers with 11 points on seven assists and four goals for her second 10-plus point performance of the season. Her 11 points is also the most for a Blue Hen since All-American Karen Emas registered 13 points against James Madison in 1986. DeRuggiero finishes the year with a school-record 53 assists and is second in program history with 97 career assists in just three seasons. In what was a back and forth affair, the two teams held seven different tie scores. Caroline Farley gave the Hens the 10-9 lead heading into halftime, but the Tigers responded and never looked back after rattling off six unanswered goals. Farley joined DeRuggiero and Sydney Rausa by scoring four goals apiece. Farley added two assists for a total of six points to go along with three draw controls while Rausa tallied a team-best four draw controls. Kate Brewster tallied 11 saves in the loss.
