The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team scored five unanswered goals to end the first half and cruised to a 16-6 win over Delaware State on Friday afternoon at Bailey Memorial Stadium. Ten Blue Hose players recorded at least one point with Sarah Marshall recording a collegiate-best seven points on six goals and one assist. Scoring the Game Delaware State scored first behind a goal from Emmy McGill at 26:46. After a yellow card on the Hornets, Marshall tied the game with one of her two man-advantage goals on the day just three minutes later. Back-to-back goals for the Hornets saw the visitors leading 3-1 just over 12 minutes into the game. The Blue Hose answered with goals from Alyssa Cooke, Madison Berg and Ana Boothe to take a 4-3 lead at 9:40. Delaware State replied with a goal from Olivia Summerville to tie it at 4-4 with 8:40 to play in the half. Presbyterian College then scored five unanswered to end the half up 9-4 and outscored Delaware State 7-2 in the second half en route to the 16-6 win. For the Record Presbyterian College improves to 1-5 on the year, while Delaware State falls to 0-3. Notables Sarah Marshall’s six goals tied for 7th most by a PC player in a game and give her a team-high 13 on the season. She is the fourth player to record a pair of man-up goals in the same game in program history. The 25 points and 16 goals were season highs for PC, and the nine assists tied for 10th most by PC in a game. The pair of man-up goals fell one shy of the program record of three set in 2014 at Kennesaw State. Senior Natalie Barnett tied her collegiate-best with three goals and added one assist. Freshmen Madison Berg (2) and Alyssa Cooke (1) scored their first collegiate goals while Meredith Moore recorded her first assist. Defender Hudson Roarick recorded a collegiate-best two points with a goal and an assist. Up Next Presbyterian College travels to Richmond for a 5 pm matchup against the Spiders on Tuesday, March 12.
