Island, NY – Sophomore midfielders Victoria Tucci and Erin Kerstetter recorded a combined seven goals, five assists, 11 draw controls, four ground balls and three caused turnovers, while senior Kelsey Fee delivered another stellar game in goal, leading the Wagner women's lacrosse team to its program-record eighth straight victory, a 17-5 decision over Saint Francis U on Sunday at Hameline Field. En route to their history-making eighth consecutive win, the Seahawks improve to 9-2 on the season, and, coupled with Friday's 17-7 victory over Robert Morris, are now 2-0 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play. With the loss, the Red Flash fall to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in league. Wagner now hits the road for three consecutive games, beginning with a showdown at Mount St. Mary's on April 13 in what could be one of the NEC's most pivotal matchups of the season. Following today's 14-3 vanquishing of Robert Morris, the Mountaineers will enter Saturday's play riding a seven-game winning streak, along with a 10-2 overall record, and the same 2-0 NEC mark as the Seahawks. In today's contest, Tucci's full array of skills were on display throughout as she finished the day with a career-high eight-point outburst, which came on the strength of a four-goal, four-assist effort. The lightning-fast Kerstetter, meanwhile, once again continued to make plays in open space, collecting a game-high nine draw controls, which comes on the heels of her staggering program-record 14 draw-control outing vs. Robert Morris, Additionally, the dynamic 5'2" sparkplug from South Jersey added three goals, including a perfect 2-of-2 accuracy on free positon shots, one assist, four groundballs and three caused turnovers. After falling behind 2-1 at the outset, the Seahawks went to work, reeling off 11 consecutive goals, three out of Tucci's stick, in building a commanding 12-2 halftime lead. Following the break, Wagner struck first, on a goal by senior attack Megan Drum off a Tucci feed, which made it a 12-goal run bridging the halves. Saint Francis U briefly righted its ship, connecting on three straight goals, two by Morgan Day, to make it a 13-5 game, before the Seahawks closed it out in style, scoring the game's final four goals in winning going away. In addition to Tucci and Kerstetter's exploits, Wagner received four-point performances from junior attack Stephanie Falcone (3g, 1a) and sophomore attack Stefani Peluso (2g, 2a). Sophomore midfielder Madeline Seims followed her six-goal outburst vs. RMU with two scores on the day, as did freshman midfielder Kasey Dorney, while Drum finished with one. Three Seahawks – Kerstetter, Dorney and sophomore defender Noelle Harvey – posted a team-high three caused turnovers apiece - in front of Fee, who was credited with eight saves. Day's two goals led the Red Flash while goalie Ashley Stoessel came up with 12 saves in the game's first 47:50, before Grace Cooney came on to record two saves in the game's final 12:10.
