JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fourteen players found the back of the net for the Jacksonville University women's lacrosse team, as the Dolphins put on an offensive clinic against ASUN Conference newcomer Kent State to the tune of a 23-4 victory for their ninth consecutive win, Sunday afternoon at D.B. Milne Field. Jacksonville improves to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the league. Junior Erin McGuire recorded her 100th career point with one goal and one assist in the effort to become the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone. "Today was a great day to train our entire team on the System and after the timeout they responded well. You can see the depth truly developing as the season continues and as we get into the ASUN tournament, we will need that depth," stated Associate Head Coach Paul McCord following the game. "Molly Brock had an impressive game. She plays more and more like an upperclassman and less like a first year player. Coach Tierney is an outstanding coach and her team is growing fast." With a game-high five points, sophomore Alyssa Arnold (3 goals, 2 assists) and junior Olivia Alvarez (1g, 4a) led the Dolphins' offense, followed by freshman Molly Brock's four goals and eight draw controls. Kent State (1-11, 0-2 ASUN) struck first just 1:12 into the game, but the Dolphins quickly rebounded with a 6-0 run, including two goals and an assist from Arnold and a pair of goals from Brock. The Golden Eagles knocked in their final goal of the half at 20:56 and saw an onslaught of output from the Dolphins' attack. Closing out the half with a 12-0 run, Jacksonville saw a flurry of goals from Brock (20:45), sophomore Lauren Phillips (20:27), and senior captain Lillie Miller (20:15) in a 30 second window. Alvarez had a hand in the next three, with a tally at 19:53, before she dished assists to Miller (18:10) and junior Alexis Deaken (17:48). McGuire recorded her 100th-career point on an assist to Arnold at 11:16 – an appropriate cap of the century mark for the junior, who set the Dolphins' single-season assist record last year with 35. Five different players scored in the second half as the Dolphins ran to a 23-4 win. Jacksonville caused 10 of the Golden Flashes' 14 turnovers and held Kent State to a meager 8-of-16 on clears. Freshman Dayna Martinetto recorded three saves between the pipes for her 10th win of the season, while redshirt-freshman Sharn Muffett posted three saves of her own in the final 41:58 of the game. The Dolphins return to action on Thursday, April 11 when Florida visits at 7 p.m.
