Towson University women's lacrosse senior Emily Gillingham and junior Natalie Sulmonte each finished with three goals to lead nine different goal scorers as the No. 10 Tigers posted a 16-7 Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) victory over rival Delaware Sunday at Unitas Stadium. Towson (10-2) has now won five-straight and is off to the second-best start to a season in program history. The 2016 Tigers started the year with a 14-2 record en route to winning their seventh CAA championship and finishing the season with a 16-4 record. Towson has scored 36 goals over its last two games, the most in back-to-back games since the team also scored 36 in a 22-5 win over Stetson (March 12) and a 14-11 win over No. 10 Notre Dame (March 15) a year ago. With three goals, Sulmonte now has 99 for her career and is now just one shy of becoming the fourth different Tiger to score her 100th career goal this season. Gillingham did it at Stony Brook on March 17, senior Kaitlyn Montalbano did it against Michigan on February 28 and junior Carly Tellekamp reached the milestone at Drexel on Friday. Freshman Abby Wilkinson scored her first career goal with 10:51 remaining in the second half to give the Tigers a 14-6 lead. Sophomore Kiley Keating finished with a career-high 14 saves, including eight in the first half. She highlighted a Towson defensive effort that held the Blue Hens to just 1-of-8 on free position shots. Keating saved four of Delaware's eight free position shots while two were blocked and one was high. The Tigers held a 12-11 edge in draw controls, the first time in the last nine games, and just third time this season, that they have totaled more draw controls than their opponent.
