Marian University men's lacrosse (3-1, 0-0 NACC) outscored Augustana (Ill.) in all four quarters en route to a 23-10 win at home. The Sabres and Vikings opened the game each scoring a pair of goals but the Sabres would dominate the remainder of the opening half. Marian outscored the Vikings 4-1 the remainder of the first quarter and scored the first five goals of the second quarter. The final two goals came while the Sabres had a man-advantage. The two squads traded goals to close out the second stanza as Marian took a 12-4 lead into the break. The Vikings needed just three seconds to open the scoring for the second half, but three unanswered goals from the Sabres later in the quarter extended the Marian lead to 17-8 heading into the fourth. The Vikings had a strong start to the final quarter as well, but Marian was able to score the final five goals of the game to seal the 23-10 victory. Sophomore Colt Robertson paced the offense with two goals and seven assists for nine points. Junior Finn Maloney had a game-high seven goals, while fellow junior Erik Horman also had five goals with three assists. On the defensive end, senior Tommy Gerlach was able to grab 10 ground balls and caused three turnovers. Sophomore Cameron Nevins (3-1) made 11 saves on nine shots in the first three quarters of action, while fellow sophomore Richard Summers III made seven saves on nine shots in the final quarter. Marian travels to Carthage Wednesday, March 24 for a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
